Joy in the Journey
Starting as a self-taught illustrator, studying form and creating surrealist imagery, Juliana has dedicated her time to improving her skills and finding different perspectives to contribute to her style. Juliana simultaneously learned photography and editing in Photoshop during high school and then dove into literature and creative writing in college. When she transferred to Cal Poly Humboldt, she dedicated her time to graphic design, illustration, and photography. During the pandemic, Juliana began volunteering for Cooperation Humboldt, a non-profit working towards a solidarity economy. Volunteering led to becoming a regular freelancer for the non-profit on several projects. Most recently, Juliana co-illustrated and created animations for the project: Field Guide to a Crisis. Working for Holly Yashi Jewelry as a digital designer after graduating, Juliana gained experience in marketing campaigns, building websites, branding, email promotions, and store signage. Juliana continues to pursue personal art projects and works as a freelance graphic designer.
